Sotheby’s is set to auction six unique works by Botto, an autonomous AI artist, in celebration of the third anniversary of its creation. This exhibition, titled “Exorbitant Stage: Botto, a Decentralized AI Artist,” opened on October 17 and will conclude on October 24. The exhibition is available for public viewing from October 19 to October 23 during gallery hours.
Valuable Artworks with High Bidding Potential
The auction features six works by Botto, with estimated sales ranging from $220,000 to $310,100. Notable pieces include “The Threshold of Reverie” and “Intersections of Existence,” with starting bids between $9,000 and $70,000. Botto, created by German artist Mario Klingemann and ElevenYellow, has gained recognition for its innovative approach to art.
Botto's Unique Creative Process
Botto operates independently, generating thousands of images based on its own prompts without human intervention. The decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) behind Botto allows stakeholders to vote on which images to mint and sell, enhancing its creative output. Over 15,000 individuals have contributed to Botto's artistic development, influencing its themes and styles.
